Madonna The Annunciation

The Annunciation Madonna
Released in the 1950s as design numbers 2089, 2118, 2132 & 2517 and possibly others.
This Madonna was produced from a mold acquired from Holland Mold, Inc. Early pieces were larger measuring 9" tall. By the 1960s the size was reduced to 7 1/2" for design number 2118 and various halos were introduced including wooden and floral designs. Sold as an open edition, The Annunciation was retired in 1965.
Finishes
Two known sizes were produced in various colors and finishes. Items found in the smaller 7 1/2" size may have a wooden halo attached to the back of her head. Floral halos were porcelain and fired as part of the sculpture. Sculptures were produced in:
- Stained Glass-white and multiple colors
- Cypia and Stained Glass with Old Coin Gold accents
- Parian white and color also with varying halos
Sculptures are found with both the stamped and hand signed Cybis signatures as well as adhesive stickers with the Cybis stamp applied to the sticker.
