The earliest children figurines were produced in a variety of colors using commercially purchased molds and made of china.

In 1957 the studio retired the commercial molds and began producing unique porcelain sculptures of children designed by artists specifically for Cybis. Before the decade's close the studio had released five new works depicting children.
The theme of storybook children provided a wide variety of choices for the artists of Cybis to choose from. Nine new children were added during the 1960's brining the total to 14 children for collectors to add in this category.

The third decade of children sculptures continued with the introduction of 27 new items.
This decade saw the beginning of equality for boys! Cybis released six new boys. A seventh was a boy and girl sledding. These seven lads were a significant increase in the category as only two boys had been introduced previously.

The Children to Cherish category had more entries during the 80's than any other Cybis category.

The 1990's were the final decade for new releases to the Children to Cherish collection. The studio introduced far fewer children in the 90's due to its effort to scale back and remain open while many of its merchants were going out of business. The children released were largely given titles as opposed to names. Only one of the 90's kids had a proper name, Andy. All others were referred to as a boy or girl involved in an activity of some sort.
